Thanks again for sharing over at my place. Not long ago, I read about Dan West, the founder of Heifer International. I guess he started with only seventeen cows, and that has grown to help people in 125 different countries. Crazy!
Amy, we had the opportunity to visit Heifer's World Headquarters in Little Rock last winter and it is amazing!! They build "green" and have a LEED platinum level building complete with a rain pond. They are very good stewards of their resources.
Hey Sara! Great to *meet* you from Amy's. I love what you are doing with alternate giving...we are working towards more in that direction, but our families do have a hard time not giving to the kids that they don't see (and less since moving overseas)...but, it is simple, free, beautiful. Love it!
Nice to meet you, Sara. I can relate to having good intentions that fall short. It's great that your families have been so supportive about alternate giving ideas. I've been fearful of reactions if we should try that. Nice to meet you!
